ABSTRACT
This lecture examines the opportunities and the challenges applying search technologies to securities trading data. The cost of magnetic storage and bandwidth makes it practical to encourage both information rich strategies and high volume transactional trading. The industry must find new ways to organize and find relationships between several systems and data sets in real time for volumes that were not possible just a few years ago. George will discuss the latest techniques using search technologies on individual transactions and the science behind indexing large amounts of small documents for fixed income, equities and options.
